Cellulose Acetate Phthalate
Cellulose Acetate Phthalate is a cellulose derivative synthesized for coating pharmaceutical tablets or granules. It is pH-sensitive and may also be used as a matrix material in solid dose forms. Enteric coating material can survive extreme pH changes such as acidic gastric fluids, but dissolves readily in the mildly acidic to neutral environment of the small intestine.
